Did you know that Jesus prayed for you?
In the book of John, beginning in Chapter 16, we read Jesus conversing with his disciples just before he enters into his prayers in the Garden of Gethsemane. His words were not just for his disciples or even just for men..but for women too. Anyone who believes in Him and that He came from the Father, died on the cross for us, and is now sitting at the right hand of God, are called His children. We belong to Him. He loves all of us dearly and understands everything that we have and will go through.
Women can truly understand what Jesus means in this verse:
“A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world,” John 16:21 NKJV
At this point Jesus was trying to console his disciples by letting them know they would see Him again and the happiness they would feel would be something no one could ever take from them. We need to think of this verse in our daily lives when times get hard..when we are going thru a storm in our lives or we are feeling pain in our body or soul. However Jesus does want us to be happy in our lives here on earth:
“Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” John 16:24 NKJV
Maybe your prayers haven’t been answered yet and you are still waiting on your miracle. Whatever situation you are in just remember that we are not of this world. Satan is the ruler and we do not belong here. This is why we have so many difficulties, trials, and tribulations. However Jesus reminds us that He has overcome all. He has won the final battle and has the victory. Hallelujah! Don’t give up or become so disheartened that you feel hopeless. Hope is here for you, my friend.
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NKJV
Isn’t that wonderful news? Jesus holds the keys to Heaven and Hell. Satan only thought he had won but then later discovered that what he was doing for evil, God used to save us all. Romans 8:28 tells us that God doesn’t cause bad things to happen to us but sometimes allows them to happen because He knows the good that will come out of the situation that we cannot foresee. In our troubled times it does seem hard to trust God, but I tell you girlfriend..He will never leave you alone! In fact, He prayed for you before He died for you on the cross thousands of years ago:
“I do not pray for these (His disciples) alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word.” John 17:20 NKJV (emphasis mine)
“And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.” John 17:22 NKJV
You can read Jesus’ entire prayer for you in John 17:20-26
Jeremiah 1:5 reads: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet the the nations.” NKJV
God intricately made you in your mother’s womb. Nothing you have ever done or experienced in your life is a surprise to Him. He also knew that you would be reading these words at this very moment and time. If you are, I believe that God is speaking to you one on one. He wants you to know for the first time or remember once again that He has and will always be here for you. He will complete the work in you that He started.
“He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6 NKJV
For your uplifting, here is the Hymn of Faith:
“Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls—Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And he will make me walk on my high hills.” Habakkuk 3:17 NKJV
